This week-long summer program is designed for students to dive deep into the world of waste. During the program, participants:
- Visit SWA facilities behind the scenes (recycling, renewable energy, landfill, transfer station, Greenway Trail System and more)
- Visit partner organizations (Resource Depot, Loxahatchee River District and Grassy Waters Preserve)
- Do hands-on activities around the 4Rs – reduce, reuse, recycle and rethink
- Learn about industry practices and environmental impact
- Graduate as official SWA 4R Ambassadors
Participant Requirements
- Completed grades 6, 7 or 8
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (transcript from school)
- Recommendation letter from science teacher
