Spring is in full swing at the Palm Beach Zoo, and there has never been a better time to grab the kids and spend a sun-soaked day exploring! From adorable new arrivals to Earth Day celebrations and an exciting summer ahead, April is just the beginning of what's in store for your family this year.
Three Capybara Babies Have Arrived!
The biggest news at the Zoo right now? Three precious capybara babies! These adorable, curious little ones are guaranteed to steal your heart. Without a doubt, your kids will absolutely lose it over them. From April 17–22, 2026, you can help decide what they'll be named. Stop by to vote in person on the capybara names, and during that window, your vote will count twice. This is your chance to be part of Zoo history.
Join the Earth Day Celebrations
Earth Day is 365 days for the Zoo, but Earth still deserves a big celebration. Join the celebration on April 17, 18, 19, and 22, 2026, for special programming the whole family will love, including:
- Gardening tips woven through the day to help you with your green thumb.
- Capybara chats that will help the kiddos learn all about these fascinating animals.
- Conservation talks highlighting the incredible real-world work Zoo staff carry out every day to protect wildlife around the globe.
It's a wonderful opportunity to spark a love of nature in your little ones while learning something meaningful together. The Zoo has always been more than just a place to see animals. It's a place where real conservation happens, and Earth Day is the perfect time to celebrate that mission as a family.
Don't Miss the Final Nights of Rhythm in the Wild!
If you haven't experienced Rhythm in the Wild yet, your window is closing! Catch the final nights of this magical after-hours event on April 11 and April 25, 2026. And a heads up for parents: April 18, 2026 is a 21+ only evening, so plan your babysitter accordingly and enjoy a well-deserved grown-up night out under the stars!
Koala Habitat Reopening — Coming Very Soon!
Here's one to watch: the koala habitat is very close to reopening! Make sure you're following the Palm Beach Zoo on social media to be among the first to know when those beloved animals are back and ready for visitors. It's the kind of announcement you won't want to miss, so keep your notifications on!
The Splash Pad Is Back!
Just in time for the South Florida heat, the splash pad has been turned back on! While it's currently operating at limited capacity, it's still providing the same fun to help your little ones cool off between animal adventures. A day of animals with a splash pad? There's no way to beat an adventure like that.
Plan a Summer Camp or Group Visit!
Looking ahead to summer? The Palm Beach Zoo is the perfect destination. Sign up for our Summer Zoo Camp 2026 or bring out a group of your own! This summer, there is so much to get excited about, from meeting the three new capybara babies to taking in the newly reopened koala habitat. Add in the splash pad and the Zoo's stunning natural setting, and you've got a full day of memories in the making.
Group visits are a fantastic way for kids to connect with nature, learn about wildlife conservation, and bond over shared experiences that go far beyond the classroom. And speaking of special occasions, why settle for a regular birthday party? A birthday party at the Palm Beach Zoo is the kind of experience kids will be talking about long after the last piece of cake is gone. Imagine your little one's face lighting up near the capybara habitat or celebrating just steps away from where the koalas will soon be back on display. It's a wild, one-of-a-kind way to make their big day truly unforgettable.
