I love using my slow cooker to make dinner time easier. I have more time (and energy!) to put it together earlier in the day and then set it and basically forget it!
At Macaroni KID, we skip the fluff and get straight to the good stuff. No need to scroll through pages of unnecessary content — our recipes are easy to find. Now let's get cooking!
What you need:
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 10.75 oz can cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 4 TBSP butter, softened to room temperature
- 1 0.7 oz packet Italian dressing mix
- Your choice of pasta
- Optional: sliced mushrooms, broccoli or other vegetables
What you do:
- Put chicken in slow cooker.
- In a sauce pan, combine cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, cream cheese, butter, and Italian dressing packet over medium to medium-high. Stir occasionally until everything is mixed together and the cream cheese has completely melted.
- Pour sauce into the slow cooker. If using, add sliced mushrooms, broccoli, or other vegetables, as well. Sometimes I prepare the broccoli while the pasta is cooking instead of in the slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
- Towards the end of cooking time, prepare the pasta according to instructions on package.
- Serve the chicken and sauce over the pasta.
